C.R.Z MAP

CRZ is a notification issued by the Union Environment Ministry to protect the coastal environment and regulate development activities. Based on this, CRZ maps are maps that divide coastal zones into various categories.

Main Categories (Zones)

CRZ-I (Critical Zone): Ecologically sensitive areas such as mangroves and coral reefs. Construction activities are strictly prohibited here.

CRZ-II (Developed Zone): Coastal areas that are municipalities or developed areas. Construction can be permitted here with certain criteria.

CRZ-III (Rural Areas): Relatively less developed rural areas. These are further divided into CRZ-III A (densely populated) and CRZ-III B (densely populated).

CRZ-IV: Water bodies within the tidal limits of the sea and backwaters.
