Vision and mission
Vision
The main vision of Dharmadam is to remain a melting pot of a diverse and high culture through contact with various communities and the lifestyles that have been shaped by them. This area, where natural beauty and historical significance come together, remains an important link in the socio-cultural history of North Malabar.
Mission
- Cultural Heritage Preservation: Maintain cultural and scholarly heritage through places of worship like Andallur Kavu and Melur Shiva Temple and educational institutions like Brennan College.
- Development: The Panchayat area is surrounded by water as the Anjarakandipuzha flows into two tributaries and flows through both sides of Dharmadam Panchayat before joining the Arabian Sea. Bridges and roads need to be built to connect all parts of the area with the surrounding areas.
- Historical Continuity: Preserve the identity of the area by combining the ancient historical fame of Dharmapattanam with the modern history of Kerala.
- Social Unity: Ensure social justice and unity in the context of the dispute resolution style and yogam cheras that existed through the concept of 'Tharamelidam' in ancient times.
- Nature Conservation: Preserve and maintain the natural beauty and environment of this island area where the Anjarakandipuzha River and the Arabian Sea meet.
